I always have a huge liking for pancakes and have always longed to go strictly pancakes to try their pancakes. My friends all had different feedbacks on strictly pancakes, some thought that it was rather mediocre and there were nothing special about it.On the other hand , some thought it was really worth the try.

So finally, one fine day, my friend took me down to strictly pancakes to try it out ! I was super excited ! :)

The first thought that came to my mind when I was there , was that the restaurant is really SMALL ! They have a few benches and tables at the bottom and a few tables laid out on the top level. The tables above are only catered for two sitters and there were rows of it. I felt like I was in a setting for speed dating, because there were rows of couples sitting in one straight row. It was hilarious! I just burst out laughing !

Strictly pancakes offers a vast varieties of pancakes that you are able to choose from, there are a wide selection of it, ranging from savoury to sweet or even plain pancakes served with Maple syrups and thereafter you are able to choose your sides to come along with it.

They also serve finger foods like fries, potato wedges and chicken wings.Followed by sandwiches and a weekend breakfast menu of egg benedict, etc. There is also an option to have an all american breakfast menu set available, which consists of Pancakes served along with Crispy Bacon Strips, Sausages, Quails Eggs and Grilled Tomatoes, that comes along with a pairing of their brewed coffee.

My friend and I choose the sweet pancakes. I had Strawberries & Co, while my friend had The Druggie.

This is the Strawberries & Co that I tried. They are medium stack pancakes with seasonal mixed berries fresh from the grocer, cream and strawberry coulis served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

If you have a huge liking of strawberries just like me , you will love this dish. It has a very sweet flavour, from the strawberry coulis, blend in with a hint of sourness from the seasonal mixed berries and fresh strawberries.

On the other hand, my friend had The druggie , where you are able to indulge in the ultimate chocolate fix with three chocolate pancakes served with chocolate ice cream sprinkled with chocolate flakes and sliced strawberries topped off with our own homemade chocolate sauce.

If you love chocolate , you are bound to enjoy this dish , as it is very chocolaty ! Even the pancakes that they served are chocolate pancakes soaked in chocolate syrup and chocolate flakes, yums!

Overall, I had enjoyed my time there, the services they provided was good and the food was good. Furthermore, the pancakes are sold at an affordable price and they serve considerably quite a huge serving. I will definitely recommend you guys to go try it ! But remember to come early ! As there will be a crowd even as early as 6pm ! As it is quite a popular place, there are bound to be a long Queue. So if you are a person who dislike to wait in line. I will strongly advise you to come early to be the first in line ! :D

Food for Thought is located near Tanglin Gate at Botanical Garden, at B1. You will have to take the stairs down.

Food For Thought serves European cuisine which consists of all day breakfast , burgers, Pasta , mains, desserts , soups, salads and they also serve alcoholic beverages if you are interested to indulge in some alcohol.

Food for thought provides a very cosy ambiance for you and your friends or loved ones to enjoy while savouring your food. The place is rather huge, and it is very spacious, with loads of tables and chairs. Hence, you don't need to be afraid whether you will be able to get seats during peak periods.Fret not, as the restaurant provides extra seats outside. Also, there is a small playground build for kids to play, located beside the restaurant, it will be ideal if you are bringing your kids along with you.

I have ordered the classic beef with Kaffir Lime Mayo. This burger was rather mediocre , and I had better ones before. Based on my own opinions, I found it rather dry and it could be better. However, it is not too bad.

On the other hand, my friend had the plain Linguine , Aglio Olio. It tasted rather tasty, but quite ordinary.

Last but not least, we ordered our dessert, we choose the Old Southern Red Velvet cake. This is something YOU MUST TRY! IT IS REALLY DELICIOUS ! It has a very rich flavour.

Red velvet cake is a popular cake with a dark red, bright red or red-brown color. It is traditionally prepared as a layer cake topped with cream cheese icing, and sometimes cookie dough filling. The reddish color is achieved by adding red food coloring.

Common ingredients include buttermilk, butter, flour, cookie dough for the filling, cocoa, and beetroot or red food coloring.

If you have not try red velvet before, you should try one ! I bet you will not regret it! :D

Overall, Food for thought is really a nice cafe where you can chill with your friends. I had a great time over there. However, one thing you should take note about Food for thought is that they do not have Service charge. Hence, this tells you that there will be no waiter or waitress serving you. If you want a cup of ice water, you will have to get it yourself. If you are a very lazy person, then maybe food for thought will not be your cup of tea.

Other than that, I will recommend you to patronize this place, as it offers good food and at a rather affordable price, it is not pricey. One of my friend, commented that she really loves the pancakes there. Maybe , one day, I will go back to Food for Thought and try it! :)

AU CHOCOLAT @MBS

Au Chocolat is a french restaurant located at:
L1-03, Bay Level, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
Contact no:

You can visit their website for more information: http://www.auchocolat.com/

The first impression that I got when I stepped into the restaurant was , " wow! This restaurant is really pretty " They have a very elaborated European vintage design furnish and decorations , that will leave you breathless. They even have a operating toy train circulating around the restaurant's ceiling , that fascinates me.

This French restaurant , Au Chocolat serves All day Breakfast, Pancakes, Salads , Pastas, french toasts, hand-made savoury and sweet crepes , accompanied with a snack menu such as tater tots, truffle fries, desserts , cakes, etc. They also serves a wide selection of chocolates and candies and pastries.

We had the egg poached crepe which was recommended by the waiter , as one of the hot sellers in Au Chocolat. The egg poached crepe is unlike any ordinary crepe that is served in Marche or in any other places. The egg poached crepe that they served was really sweet, and the ham they had on top of it, has a hinge of spiciness. The flavour really blends in well with the sweet tasting crepe. On top of that ,there was a huge amount of vegetables pile on top of it. It provides a very wholesome taste to the crepe. I will highly recommend you to try this. It is really good ! I enjoyed it really much .

We also tried the stuff berries French toast , which is superbly DELICIOUS! :D It is so good, that you will crave for more.

The french toast is rather sweet and crispy with a pinch of chocolaty flavour added to it , with stuffed berries and strawberries that added the sweet and sour flavour blended with the taste of the buttery french toast.

It is really an ideal place to hang out with your friends or loved ones to catch up or to bring a girl on a date as Au Chocolat provides a great ambiance , with french music played at the background. Furthermore, the services they provide there is really good, the waiter was really friendly! I will highly recommend this place to you, especially, if you are a sweet tooth and enjoy desserts and chocolates. You should DEFINITELY try this place out ! You will not regret it!
